 1947 Chevy Pick-Up

1947 Chevy Pick-Up

Owner: Dustin Kilgore
Location: Navarre, Ohio

This 1947 Chevy Pick-Up spent its first life working the farm in South Dakota but today lives the life of a “street rod” in Navarre, Ohio. Restored by father and son team Don and Dustin Kilgore, the two began the work by shortening the Chevy’s bed and building from the frame up. This truck-turned-hot rod has a Mustang II front end, coil over shocks and a nine-inch Ford rear end with 3.50 gears. The ’47 Chevy is powered by a remanufactured 350 ci 325-horsepower engine and a 700 R4 transmission. And on the inside: custom power windows, A/C and a CD player. Dustin thinks of his dad when he drives this handsome truck to National Street Rod and Goodguy events, local car shows and cruise ins where, he says, he’s met great people and made new friends. “The truck is fun to drive -- it averages about 18 miles per gallon,” Dustin says. “It’s very reliable and I enjoy taking it on the open road.”
